Tailgating Fundamentals.
Every day of the week you have been looking forward to it. Your team is playing today, Sunday, and you can't wait to sit on your couch, eat some pizza, and watch them kick some butt. Suddenly, as you dream of this, your phone rings.
You’ve been waiting for this call. Half an hour later, you get off the phone with a dumb grin on your face. You were offered tickets to the game, along with an awesome chance to be one of the tailgators at the game!
So, what does it take to tailgate at the big game? Seeing as tailgating is an integral part of the game, this must be understood with full clarity.
In order to tailgate games, you must find someone with a truck. While eating out of the back of a car might work, nothing compares to eating out of the back of a pick-up truck. Fire up the grill, get pounds upon pounds of meat roasting on the grill, and the back of the pick-up is suddenly the hottest place in the lot.
String up some speakers, get some music blasting, and you're going to be on your way to legitimate tailgating. With the music, tickets in hand, and food in your mouth, no experience can be better.
But, in order to tailgate games, you have to find the right materials. Sometimes you might not have a truck, or a barbeque grill, or pounds of meat, or speakers that can be strung to the pick-up. Is it then not possible to tailgate? Is all hope lost?
While it is definitely advisable to simply go out and purchase the necessary items, it is still possible to have a viable tailgating event without the aforementioned things. While they are obviously preferable, they are not the end all, be all of the party.
So, if that’s the case, then how does one tailgate without any items?
It’s actually very simple. As long as you have your voice, a jersey, a ticket to the game, and some team spirit in you, there are endless opportunities. You can go around the entire parking lot, cheering with your fellow fans, and wait to see your team kick butt.
You can stand in your place and create a ruckus, cheering your head off, waiting to get noticed by the local TV cameras.
Simply put, the best tailgaters have the best hearts.
